Career opportunities
Being a part of Perstorp means a wide range of opportunities and benefits. Our employees are not only our most valuable assets – they’re also the key to our success as a world leader in several sectors of the specialty chemicals industry. No matter the position you have at Perstorp, you are essential for the continued improvement of our company. This is why we offer these opportunities and benefits – because you’re important to us. Discover what some of these are and what they mean to a few of our employees below.
Alternative Careers
For many years the only way for a career at a company was to become a manager. This career path has been very successful for many people, but was not suited for everyone. To broaden career options – and thereby improve opportunities for more employees to contribute knowledge and experience in the right areas – Perstorp has developed a model for alternative careers in the chemical and process technology sectors. In addition to the existing career steps to management, there is also the opportunity for a career as a specialist or as project manager.
“It’s very exciting to know that there is a series of career steps for me to take so that I can grow, improve and take on bigger projects as a project manager.” – Andreas, Project Manager
Internal Mobility
Your learning and progress are extremely important to us at Perstorp. It’s largely up to you to take the initiative and hone your skills, and one way of doing this is through job rotation within the company. We advertise all our vacancies internally. Talking to our employees you will discover that many have taken the opportunity to try out new jobs, sometimes more than once. You don’t necessarily have to change to a different role in a different part of the company; you can keep your current role but instead transfer to another department or plant, for example.
“In my experience, there is nothing strange about wanting to develop your abilities in a different position at the company. After a while, it’s almost expected of you!” – Sofia, Process Engineer
Working Abroad
If your ambition is to work abroad on either a long-term or short-term assignment, this is also an exciting opportunity that we can offer. There is a constant need for additional specialist expertise and or leadership on long-term or short-term assignments. Living and working abroad is also a fantastic way of attaining personal growth. Our longest overseas contracts are for three years and our shortest just three months. If work takes you overseas for a shorter period than three months, this is considered as a business trip.
